Terence Reuben was born in Durban, South Africa, and spent his childhood and early adult life there. As the middle child of second-generation Indian parents, he grew up under the laws of apartheid and worked against odds to finish high school and attend college there. He graduated as a Physical Therapist from the University of Durban-Westville in South Africa in 1992 and came to the USA in 1993. Both he and his wife, Tina Reuben, have worked at Metro Health since 1998, where Mr. Reuben currently serves as the Director of Sports Medicine for the Metro Health Sports Medicine team. He uses his specialty training in Orthopedics, Manual Therapy & Sports Medicine to manage athletes and their injuries in the Grand Rapids area. He also serves as Medical Coordinator for several local races including the Fifth Third Riverbank Run, Grand Rapids Triathlon, Michigan Titanium, and the Metro Health Grand Rapids Marathon. Mr. Reuben also serves as Adjunct Professor in the Athletic Training Department at Aquinas College, Grand Rapids.
In 2000, Mr. Reuben founded PTSportsPRO, Inc., a one-on- one personal training service. He served as its CEO and Trainer until 2015. In 2008, Mr. Reuben also helped co-found myTEAM TRIUMPH, Inc., a local Grand Rapids non-profit organization which promotes racing with individuals with disabilities. This has now grown into a national organization with over 30 chapters around the country. He currently serves as the President and Executive Director of the West Michigan Chapter.
Mr. Reuben is also an avid triathlete (Sprint Triathlons to Ironman distances events) and runner, completing 29 marathons since 2005 including the famed Comrades 56-mile Ultra-Marathon in 2010. He brings his passion and experience in these sports to his patients and community. He is supported by his wife, Tina, and kids, Tristan and Nicolas.
